David M. Sunden, CPA

David M. Sunden is a shareholder and Director of Accounting and Auditing with Echelbarger, Himebaugh, Tamm & Co., P.C. (EHTC). Dave has directed professional accounting, auditing and consulting engagements for publicly and privately held companies in the manufacturing, distribution, construction, leasing, agriculture and service related industries, including government contractors. He has specific experience with mergers, acquisitions, and dispositions, which include assistance in the development of merger agreements, the formulation of due diligence plans, and the negotiation of purchase price adjustments. Dave has served as a neutral arbitrator and testified as an expert witness in post-acquisition disputes.

Prior to joining EHTC, Dave was a Senior Manager at BDO Seidman, LLP (BDO Seidman), the U.S. member of BDO International. He was with BDO Seidman for thirteen years. Prior to that, he specialized in corporate and individual taxation with a local public accounting firm for four years.

Dave graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting from Grand Valley State University in 1988. He has served as an instructor at Continuing Professional Education seminars.

Dave is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). He is currently serving as a member of the Grand Valley State University Accounting Alumni Advisory Board, and has served as an ex-officio board member for The Community Media Center, a nonprofit entity. Dave has been involved in the activities and financial matters of the Grand Rapids Wheelchair Sports Association. He is also a member of The Peninsular Club.
