Michael T. Tamm is the shareholder in charge of the Tax Department at Echelbarger, Himebaugh, Tamm & Co., P.C. (EHTC). As head of this department, Mike has worked with a variety of companies involved in the areas of distribution, service, wholesale, retail, manufacturing, insurance, construction, finance, real estate, professional and nonprofit. He has worked closely with business owners in goal setting, strategic planning, organizational issues, succession planning, executive compensation and retirement planning. He has also assisted companies with their financial activities and worked with companies in acquisitions, mergers and sales.

Additionally, Mike has worked with business owners and others in developing their own personal financial and estate plans. Mike helps owners implement their plans.  He has life, health and accident, variable contracts, and securities licenses.

He has represented clients before various tax authorities on a variety of issues. He has acted as an expert witness before the U.S. District Court, and has testified before Circuit Court, Probate Court and Michigan Tax Tribunal, and has worked on cases that were before U.S. Tax Court.

Mike has worked for a "Big Four" international public accounting firm. Mike spent five years with the Internal Revenue Service as a Field Agent and was a liaison with the U.S. Attorney's Office. He has served on the faculty of Davenport College and has served on their Accounting Department's Curriculum Advisory Board.

Mike is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the West Michigan Estate Planning Council and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). He is actively involved in the Personal Financial Planning Committee of the MACPA.
