Michael T. Tamm, CPA, was a Shareholder at Echelbarger, Himebaugh, Tamm & Co., P.C. (EHTC) for thirty years. He retired from this position on May 31, 2010.

Mike worked with a variety of companies in the areas of healthcare, distribution, service, wholesale, retail, manufacturing, construction, finance, real estate, professional services, and nonprofit. He works closely with business owners in goal-setting, strategic planning, organizational issues, succession planning, executive compensation, and retirement planning. He also assisted companies with taxes, financial activities and acquisitions, mergers and sales.

In past roles, Mike represented clients before various tax authorities on a variety of issues. He has been an expert witness before the U.S. District Court, testified before Circuit Court, Probate Court and Michigan Tax Tribunal, and worked on cases brought before the U.S. Tax Court. Earlier in his career, Mike worked for a “Big Four” international public accounting firm. Mike spent five years with the Internal Revenue Service as a Field Agent and was a liaison with the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He has served on the faculty of Davenport University and on their Accounting Department’s Curriculum Advisory Board.

Mike is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the West Michigan Estate Planning Council, and the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA).  He was previously involved in the Personal Financial Planning Committee of the MACPA.
