Community Involvement

At EHTC, we are active in the community.

Chipping for Charity Golf Outing

Since 1987, we have hosted an annual charity golf outing. Our golf outing, Chipping for Charity, provides an opportunity to help our community by donating to a worthy, local charity and enjoying a day of golf, fun and camaraderie. Participants may golf, attend the reception, sponsor a sign at one of the tees, donate to the charity, or donate door prizes. Since 1987, we have raised $176,000 for various charities including the following:

  • Mercy Respite
  • ALS
  • Halcyon
  • Rose Haven
  • Christian Learning Center
  • Literacy Council
  • UCOM
  • Traveling Grannies and Grandpa's
  • Northoek Academy
  • In the Image
  • Good Homes, Inc.
  • Black Educational Excellence Program (BEEP)
  • Adoptive Family Support Network
  • Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women (GROW)
  • Home Repair Services of Kent County
  • North Kent Service Center
  • Genesis NonProfit Housing Center
  • Gerontology Network's Experience Corps Program

We invite you to attend our 22nd annual Chipping for Charity golf outing on September 10, 2008. This event will be held at Scott Lake Country Club in Comstock Park, MI.  We will be raising funds for CLC Network's Horizons Program and Ready for Life Academy.

We hope to see you and your friends having fun golfing while we all raise money for this very deserving organization!

Casual Friday

Each Friday at EHTC is Casual Friday. Team members donate $1 to dress casual for the day. The proceeds are sent quarterly to a charity. Since 1993, we have raised over $8,800 for local charities.

Junior Achievement

Several team members have been classroom instructors in the Junior Achievement Program. They have taught in the Grandville and Forest Hills school systems. This is a great opportunity for students to learn about business and economics from experts.

Individuals

Many of our team members serve on not for profit boards and other volunteer organizations in order to give back to the community.  Team members also teach classes at Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women (GROW).
