2019 Chipping for Charity GOLF OUTING RECIPIENT - URBAN FAMILY MINISTRIES!
EHTC SELECTS URBAN FAMILY MINISTRIES AS THE 2019 CHIPPING FOR CHARITY RECIPIENT
From January to February, EHTC accepted proposals from community organizations as to why they should become the recipient of this year’s 32nd Annual Chipping for Charity golf outing. Some of the guidelines considered included having the money stay locally and that the money would significantly impact the charity.
EHTC would like to congratulate Urban Family Ministries as the 2019 Chipping for Charity recipient. This non-profit organization, located on Eastern Avenue between Wealthy and Franklin, serves the urban community and the entire family, including children, women and men. Their ministry focuses on relationships as they meet with individuals and families and help them navigate through life. Urban Family Ministries provides opportunities to help empower families so they have more options to make strong, positive choices for their future and the future of their families.
Urban Family Ministries provides a variety of programs and activities for people in the community. Super Saturday provides children with large group activities such as crafts, lessons, singing and take-home snacks. College Connection enables a participant and a college student to bond during group activities and dinners and to see college as an option for their future. Summer camps give an opportunity to get out of the city and experience something they have not been a part of before. There are study and support groups, enabling women and men to learn about the transforming possibilities of their lives. Urban Family Ministry also opens its doors to neighborhood and community events, ranging from birthdays, open houses, funeral repasts and graduations, all within a safe, judgement-free place.
Money from the 2019 Chipping for Charity Golf Outing will enable Urban Family Ministries to:
- Fund In Their Shoes, a program that takes groups through different scenarios of walking alongside families in need to gain a better understanding and break down misconceptions
- Purchase a newer, safer 15-passanger van to provide transportation for families to and from programs and activities
EHTC is excited to choose Urban Family Ministries as the 2019 Chipping for Charity Golf Outing Recipient. Please plan on joining the EHTC team at our 32nd annual Chipping for Charity Golf outing on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at Scott Lake Country Club in Comstock Park, MI.
