EHTC is proud to announce Boys & Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids Youth Commonwealth (https://bgcgrandrapids.org/) as the 2020 Chipping for Charity Golf Outing recipient. This organization was founded in 1938 and serves neighborhoods in Grand Rapids, particularly in sections of southeast and southwest Grand Rapids, by providing extra-curricular activities like sports and art to a variety of children. By leveraging their long-standing partnership with the Grand Rapids Police Department, the Boys and Girls Club of Grand Rapids builds bridges between the community and law enforcement, fostering better relations, cultivating future community leaders and establishing safer and stronger communities.
Money from the 2020 Chipping for Charity Golf Outing will enable Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids to continue to work collaboratively with the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services in their Triple Play Program. This program increases the following among Club members:
The knowledge of healthy habits, good nutrition and physical fitness;
Their number of hours per day participating in physical activities;
The ability to interactive positively with all youth and engage in healthy relationships; and
Increased participation at the Club, including recruiting new members
The purpose of the Triple Play Program though the Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids aims to focus on the mind, body and soul of each participant. At $5 per year membership fee for each Club member, the funds from the Chipping for Charity Golf Outing will keep these costs down, including keeping the Game Rooms stocked, gyms and sports equipment maintained and replaced as necessary, as well as facility costs and staffing to run the program.
More information about the 33rd annual outing will be forthcoming, but be sure to save the date for Wednesday, June 24, 2020 for a fun day of golf and volunteering to raise money for Boys & Girls Club of Grand Rapids!
