Zachary T. Buschert, CPA (Zach) joined Echelbarger, Himebaugh, Tamm & Co. P.C. in December 2014 as a Staff Accountant and became Senior Accountant in January 2018. He previously worked for a small accounting firm for four years before the company merged with EHTC. Zach graduated from Grand Valley State University in 2016 with his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance and earned his Masters of Science in Accounting from Grand Valley State University in 2018. He received his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification in 2019.
As a valuable member within the Accounting Services department, Zach specializes in working with small businesses and focuses on QuickBooks and Microsoft Business Central software. He is a Certified Advanced QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor and a Certified ProAdvisor in both Desktop and Online for QuickBooks. This focused training enables Zach to assist clients with setting up their QuickBooks and maximizing the efficiencies within the file by utilizing automation and special functionalities. He reviews the information on a regular basis with the client, whether that be monthly or quarterly based on the client’s needs. At these meetings, Zach is able to make suggestions, point out irregularities, and create KPIs (key performance indicators) that give better insight into the financial aspects of the company, helping to drive business decisions such as budgets and cash flow projections. He also creates prepared financial statements, giving clients a standardized set of financials that can be distributed to management, lenders, creditors, or investors. Zach also works with clients to assist them with the monthly closing of books, bank reconciliations, payroll and payroll taxes, sales and use taxes, and preparing business tax returns.
In his free time, Zach enjoys spending time with his family, which includes his wife, four children and three cats. He assists his wife with homeschooling the school-age children, taking on the math portions of their schoolwork. On the weekends, Zach can be found doing home improvement projects or participating as a member of a weekly bowling league. Zach’s hard work in giving a company‘s financial aspects the attention it needs, along with his technical and software skills, enables him to be an important extension for a company.
