Mary K. Echelbarger
Mary K. Echelbarger joined Echelbarger, Himebaugh, Tamm & Co., P.C. (EHTC) as a Bookkeeper in the Small Business Department in September 1996. Since then, she has become EHTC’s Accounting Director and handles all internal financial needs of the firm. Mary is a graduate of Aquinas College with a Bachelor in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance.
Mary plays a key role in the internal functioning of EHTC. As the Accounting Director, she oversees all financial aspects of the firm, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank reconciliation, billing, and collections. She compiles the monthly financial statements, analyzes the information for the Partners, and prepares the budgeting and planning for the firm. She is responsible for EHTC’s tax preparation and payroll, including all payments and taxes due. Mary also has roles in Human Resources and coordinates all benefits for the firm, including the 401(k) plan and compliance. She ensures all dues and licenses are up to date and completes the multiple surveys that are requested throughout the year. In 2020, Mary has assisted the firm with many aspects regarding COVID-19, which has enabled her to have more client interaction while assisting the firm and clients.
Outside of the office, Mary enjoys spending time with her four children and visiting family around the United States, including trips to California, Alaska, and the U.P (Upper Peninsula of Michigan for you non-Michigan residents). She is an avid hockey fan, enjoys fishing, and spends as much time outdoors as possible. EHTC is proud of Mary’s accomplishments during her nearly 24 years at the company and is looking forward to her continued positive impact on the firm.
