Current Positions Available:

Human Resources Manager

EHTC’s Human Resources Manager position is responsible for the success of our team development strategies that support our firm-wide vision, culture, core focus, core values and strategic goals each year. Primary responsibilities include:

Human Resources Administration
  • Maintain personnel manual in accordance with applicable employment laws
  • Oversee documentation on firm policies and procedures
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of HR forms and appropriate HR data entry
  • Maintain confidential files on all personnel
  • Oversee the CPE tracking, reporting and registration
  • Assist with maintaining, analyzing and administering employee benefit programs

 

Training and Development

  • Create and facilitate internal soft skills training and development programs
  • Support the leadership development of firm members
  • Orient all new employees and train staff as needed on Human Resources policies
  • Create clearly defined job descriptions and firm-wide roles grids

 

Performance Management

  • Drive the company’s annual performance management program and individual engagement evaluation process
  • Act as the firm’s team member advocate, encouraging an environment that best motivates and encourages team members to succeed
  • Provide coaching and direction to firm members through employee relations issues

 

Recruiting

  • Develop a recruiting and new hire strategic plan in conjunction with firm and departmental leadership
  • Manage the recruiting process, including both in-office interviews and campus events/job fairs
  • Perform annual evaluations on campus relationships to ensure best utilization of efforts
  • Create close relationships with key campus personnel
  • Develop and maintains strong relationships with outside recruiters on a year-round basis
  • Assist as needed with client recruiting efforts

 

Skills and Education required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or Psychology
  • 6-8+ years of experience working in Human Resources
  • Public accounting experience preferred
  • Familiarity with Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS) preferred
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills
  • Relate and communication with all levels of personnel
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality
  • Display sound, dispassionate judgment at all times
  • Work well in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment

 

Tax Staff Accountant

EHTC has experienced significant growth over the past few years and is seeking a full-time experienced Staff Accountant for our Tax Department to help facilitate this continuing progress. As a rapidly growing midsize accounting firm in West Michigan, we combine deep industry experience, comprehensive accounting and advisory services with a strong commitment to personal service. Duties for this position include tax preparation and self-review, assisting with staff development and training, project management, and recruiting. As a full-service public accounting firm providing business solutions, EHTC is able to offer our people opportunity and experience in a full complement of industry-specific functions.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Our ideal candidate will possess 1-3 years of public accounting experience in a tax environment, with a concentrated focus on complicated returns involving individuals, partnerships, corporations, estates, trusts and tax-exempt entities. This includes multi-state taxation amongst all entity types.
  • Preparation of well-organized tax working papers and accurate tax returns that are in accordance with professional standards and the terms of the engagement letter
  • Research and analyze accounting issues as they develop
  • Identify areas of risk and be able to suggest solutions
  • Ability to identify tax benefits for clients in order to add value to the relationship
  • Assists with firm recruiting
Essential Job Requirements:
  • 1-3 years of experience in public accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of the tax preparation process
  • Excellent MS Office experience
  • Knowledge of Accounting and Tax Software is required
  • BS in Accounting from an accredited university; Masters in Tax preferred
  • CPA Certification desired
  • Strong skills in oral/written communication
