Chipping for Charity:
A Tradition of Giving Back

EHTC's annual charitable golf outing aims to support local nonprofits that make a meaningful impact in our community. Since its inception, nearly $400,000 has been invested through Chipping for Charity into West Michigan non-profit organizations.

Chipping for Charity is more than just an annual event — it’s a celebration of our core values: Willingness to Grow, Going Above and Beyond, Passion for Living, and Teamwork.

Each year, we proudly select a local nonprofit organization to receive the proceeds from this special golf outing. This event is a reflection of our commitment to making a meaningful impact, not just within our business but throughout the West Michigan community.

We believe in helping our clients, team members, and neighbors achieve their full potential. At Chipping for Charity, hard work, fun, and giving back come together in perfect balance.

EHTC is honored to give back to the communities that have given us so much.

Meet the Community Food Club, Our 38th Annual Chipping for Charity Beneficiary.

Congratulations to the Community Food Club, our 2026 Chipping for Charity beneficiary!

Each year, EHTC carefully selects a local nonprofit organization as the recipient of our annual golf outing proceeds. We receive dozens of applications from wonderful and worthy causes around West Michigan. While it is extremely challenging to select just one recipient, we are honored to be supporting an organization that makes a meaningful community impact.

The Community Food Club (CFC) is a nonprofit, member-based grocery store that provides an innovative and dignified approach to food security for Kent County residents. Through a unique points-based shopping model, the organization served 1,900 households monthly in 2024, distributing 1.9 million pounds of food.

Members who qualify for the CFC based on income pay a sliding monthly fee of $12-18 and shop using a points system that incentivizes healthy foods. Fruits and vegetables are given the lowest point values, while processed snacks are priced higher. As a result, 56% of items selected are fruits or vegetables.

Funds raised through this year's outing will support a special initiative to move 100 households off the CFC’s waitlist, reducing the number of families waiting to access their services by 25%.
