Community Involvement

At EHTC, we are active in the community. As a corporate citizen, EHTC strongly believes in the vitality of the Grand Rapids area. We recognize that a well-rounded business is measured not only by profitability, client satisfaction and professional growth, but also by its role in the community it shares. By joining together, we know we can make a difference in the lives of others.

Chipping for Charity Golf Outing

describe the image

Since 1987, we have hosted an annual charity golf outing. Our golf outing, Chipping for Charity, provides an opportunity to help our community by donating to a worthy, local charity and enjoying a day of golf, fun and camaraderie. Participants may golf, attend the reception, sponsor a sign at one of the tees, donate to the charity or donate door prizes. 2018 will be the 31st Annual Chipping for Charity Golf Outing, and we know the best is yet to come!

2017 proved to be the most successful event to date by honoring GR8 Sports, Great Kids, who has partnered with the Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) to ensure students have access to sports, regardless of their ability to pay. Studies have shown that increased amounts of physical activity positively impact a student's ability to go to school, focus, study and learn. The availability of these programs after school also enables students to have safe activities to partake in once the school day is over.

Funds raised from EHTC's 30th Annual Chipping for Charity Golf Outing helped to:

  • Field over 150 middle school teams in fourteen sports, engaging over 2,500 students
  • Offer four sports to elementary students with over 3,500 students participating
  • Help to develop exceptional, well-rounded student athletes in the GRPS district while encouraging healthy lifestyles
