Community Involvement

At EHTC, we are active in the community. As a corporate citizen, EHTC strongly believes in the vitality of the Grand Rapids area. We recognize that a well-rounded business is measured not only by profitability, client satisfaction and professional growth, but also by its role in the community it shares. By joining together, we know we can make a difference in the lives of others.

Chipping for Charity Golf Outing

describe the image

Since 1987, we have hosted an annual charity golf outing. Our golf outing, Chipping for Charity, provides an opportunity to help our community by donating to a worthy, local charity and enjoying a day of golf, fun and camaraderie. Participants may golf, attend the reception, sponsor a sign at one of the tees, donate to the charity or donate door prizes. 2018 will be the 31st Annual Chipping for Charity Golf Outing, and we know the best is yet to come!

We are excited to announce Children With Hair Loss (CWHL) as the 2018 Chipping for Charity recipient. This non-profit organization provides human hair replacements at no cost to children and young adults facing medically-related hair loss. When a child’s hair is lost due to cancer treatments, alopecia, trichotillomania, burns or other reasons, the painful effects are far deeper than cosmetic. Children are eligible to receive a human hair replacement each year until they turn 21.

Since being founded in 2000, CWHL has helped more than 4,000 children across the United States, with 569 children receiving hair replacements and care kits in 2017 alone. Children receive hair replacements as well as a care kit, including a Styrofoam head and stand, wig tape, styling tools, hair care products, head scarves, hat and headbands. This package is an experience the children will remember for a long time and can cost up to $5,000 per kit.

Money from the 2018 Chipping for Charity Golf Outing will be used to:

  •  Purchase human hair replacements for children
  • Help fund the care kits sent with the hair replacements
  • Used only for children referred through Grand Rapids’ DeVos Children’s Hospital
