Meet Ben!
Client Accounting Services Senior Associate
Ben Elenbaas, Client Accounting Services (CAS) Senior Associate, works directly with clients to support their accounting and financial operations. He brings a broad background in accounting, technology, and client-facing work to EHTC, which he uses to help businesses navigate their day-to-day financial challenges. He also contributes to the firm’s Valuation practice, drawing on prior experience in the space to support multiple departments.
Ben graduated from Calvin College in 2016 with a degree in accounting and an affinity for numbers shared by several family members in the field. After briefly exploring a career in sports operations, Ben returned to his accounting roots to build a career that better aligned with his personal and family goals. He spent three years as a controller at a country club, overseeing accounting and finance functions as well as partnering with leadership on growth initiatives, then transitioned to a valuation firm, where he conducted ESOP valuation work. Ben was introduced to EHTC through a personal friend at the firm, making the connection feel like a natural fit.
Outside of EHTC, Ben has remained connected to First Tee West Michigan, a youth golf and life skills nonprofit, in an advisory and fundraising capacity. He is also passionate about his local church, currently serving as the treasurer.
Locally, Ben and his family enjoy exploring Grand Rapids’ food scene, spending time at their cottage in Newaygo, and cheering on all Michigan athletics. He and his wife also regularly visit Zimbabwe to see extended family; a tradition they hope to continue as their children grow.
