Meet Michael!
Assurance Associate
Michael Morris is an Assurance Associate at EHTC, joining the team full-time in 2026 after completing an Assurance internship with the firm during his senior year of college. As an associate, Michael supports the team across audit, review, and compilation engagements, taking on greater ownership of client work as he grows in the role.
Michael graduated from Calvin University in spring 2026 with a degree in Accounting and Finance. He began college as an engineering major before finding his fit in accounting, all while competing on Calvin's men’s basketball team. Prior to EHTC, Michael completed a corporate cost accounting internship at a major West Michigan retailer. His internship with EHTC's Assurance team confirmed that the firm was the right fit, and he accepted a full-time offer after graduating.
Now working toward his CPA certification, Michael credits the Assurance team's welcoming, open culture with making his transition from intern to associate a smooth one. He is thankful for partners and senior managers who are always willing to talk through questions, and teammates who made him feel at home from day one.
A West Michigan native, Michael is a proud Grand Rapids area product who stayed close to home for college and never seriously considered leaving. When he's not studying for the CPA exam, you'll find him playing pickup basketball with former teammates, golfing with his high school friends, or catching football games with the same crew on fall weekends.
