FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Ada, Mich.: West Michigan CPA & advisory firm EHTC has selected the Children’s Healing Center as the beneficiary of its 39th Annual Chipping for Charity golf outing. The event is scheduled for June 22, 2027, at Quail Ridge Golf Club in Ada.
The Children’s Healing Center (the Center) provides a safe, clean space for kids and young adults with weakened immune systems to play, learn, and build friendships alongside their families. Founded in 2011, the Center was the first organization of its kind in the U.S. It has since served more than 3,400 members across Michigan, with all programs offered at no cost to families.
Funds raised in 2027 will support Partners in Play: 18 holes, 18 families.
“The Children's Healing Center gives kids with weakened immune systems something most of us take for granted: a safe place to play, make friends, and be kids," said Matt Fegan, Partner at EHTC. "We're proud to rally our golfers and sponsors behind these families.”
Funds raised through this year's outing will support Partners in Play, a program which addresses financial barriers to Center participation. Each $3,000 raised provides one family with a full year of membership. The goal for 2027 is 18 families: one for every hole on the course.
The Center serves kids and young adults ages 0 to 26 with cancer, heart conditions, blood disorders, autoimmune disorders, and other diagnoses that compromise the immune system. The West Michigan location is built with hospital-grade safety features, including advanced air filtration, water purification, easily sanitized surfaces, and fabric-free furnishings. Every visit also includes a health screening.
"We love that Chipping for Charity brings people together for a day of fun, because that's exactly what we work to make possible for the families we serve," said Melissa Block, Director of Development and Growth at the Center. "For children with weakened immune systems, even the simplest childhood experiences can come with risk. This partnership will help us give more kids and families the opportunity to play, make friends, and create memories without the worries that so often accompany their everyday lives."
