Meet Zach!
Assurance Associate
Zach Logan, Assurance Associate, supports audit preparation and hands-on testing across key financial statement areas, including revenue, expenses, accounts receivable, and cash. Day to day, Zach traces information from a client’s trial balance and general ledger to supporting documentation, such as invoices and bank statements, to ensure accuracy. His engagements span compilations, reviews, and financial statement audits across a variety of industries.
Graduating from Calvin University, Zach majored in finance and accounting before completing Calvin’s Master of Accounting program. Business runs in his family: His father is an entrepreneur, and other relatives, including his uncle and grandfather, have also owned and run businesses. Zach was encouraged to consider accounting as a way to build a strong, well-rounded understanding of business, and that advice stuck. Outside the classroom, Zach was a member of Calvin’s swim team, specializing in sprint freestyle events, and served as team captain his senior year.
Zach joined EHTC as an Assurance Intern the summer before his senior year, having previously supported bookkeeping and finance functions at his father’s company. Zach returned to EHTC full-time as an Assurance Associate after graduation. He was drawn to assurance because it provided the opportunity to work closely with a variety of businesses and gain a deeper understanding of how they operate. The exposure to different industries and business models made assurance a natural fit for his interests. He also values EHTC’s culture and its emphasis on work-life balance.
Outside of work, Zach stays active. He lifts regularly, has picked up running, and recently played in a soccer intramural league. He also loves to travel; he’s visited most of the 50 states and hopes to complete the list, with Hawaii and Alaska ranking among his favorite trips for their beaches, mountains, and wildlife. When he’s not traveling or studying for the CPA exams, he tries to get out on the golf course at least once a week.
